Lovely。 I’m not sure if the words or the illustrations are my favorite。 Both combine well to tell the story of a face reflected in the turned pages that “you matter。” Knowing we are only just now telling POC this in picture books demands more of them to be published。 Windows and doors。

I really liked the message of this book, but the illustrations and text seemed repetitive。 I am understanding from a lot of my book reviews that I more gear towards the creative, whimsical, and unrealistic stories, rather than the picture books that have poetry or that convey deep messages。 I did like how realistic the characters in this book were illustrated。 The shades and lines use make them look like real people。

This definitely had to be one of my favorite books。 From the content of the black image to the themes of strength, belonging, and identity, these all were contributing to the author’s message that black lives matter。The primary genre of this book is poetry。 This book taught me that as a black woman in this world, I matter。 I was born from kings and queens that have made up this planet。 I must see that beauty behind myself and my lineage。 Another lesson I can teach children reading this book is t This definitely had to be one of my favorite books。 From the content of the black image to the themes of strength, belonging, and identity, these all were contributing to the author’s message that black lives matter。The primary genre of this book is poetry。 This book taught me that as a black woman in this world, I matter。 I was born from kings and queens that have made up this planet。 I must see that beauty behind myself and my lineage。 Another lesson I can teach children reading this book is to understand that all lives matter。 Stories like Trayvon Martin’s need to come to an end。 Children must see the value in all lives and remind all people around them that they matter。 This book was a WOW book for me due to the elements and word choice。 “All Because You Matter” made me feel recognized and appreciated。 It made me feel like I do matter and caused me to understand my beauty within this world。 The author’s writing craft was fantastic。 The use of poetry and similes to describe content throughout the book was brilliant。 I was able to stay engaged with the choice of words used to describe and contribute to the author’s message。 The author also sets a strong tone for readers to understand the power in which they matter。I would not say this book was biased。 I would just say that it focused on African Americans and taught all about the lineage with a powerful message。 In today’s society, black people are faced with the recurring issue of police brutality。 The author is able to shine a positive light on black beauty while being free of any bias。 。。。more

Beautiful。 I love how the book is written, the first sentence made me giggle as it is so true, so powerful and so simply said。 I love the texture in the illustrations, the culture represented, and the references to our ancestors, and our universe。

This is a book where I saw the cover everywhere。 The illustrations are breathtaking but, I expected that from Brian Collier。 The language was poetic and beautiful, full of affirmation and a bit of Spanish。

All Because You Matter is a wonderful story that engraves into the readers brain that they matter。 It involves family/cultural history and explains how no matter what is happening in someones life, they do and always will, matter。 I would use this in my classroom to remind my students that even though they might feel different or that they don't fit in, they are unique and special in their own way and those differences between them is what makes them stand out the most! I enjoyed this book。 This book would be great to into social emotional learning。 The book talks about the importance of you and how much you matter, but also when you might question if you really do matter。 The book gives great examples of when you might feel like you don't matter。 I enjoy the diversity in the book。 The book emphasizes that no matter the color of your skin, how well you do in school, or what you name is, we all matter。 I enjoyed this book。 This book would be great to into social emotional learning。 The book talks about the importance of you and how much you matter, but also when you might question if you really do matter。 The book gives great examples of when you might feel like you don't matter。 I enjoy the diversity in the book。 The book emphasizes that no matter the color of your skin, how well you do in school, or what you name is, we all matter。 。。。more

This book was outstanding!! I really like the fact that they named some of the African American people who has lost their life to police brutality 。 this book confronts the world around young African American children and reminding them that they matter and come from legends。

All Because You Matter does a good job of going through the life of a boy showing all the points at which he felt like he did not feel enough, but reminded him that he did indeed matter。 My teaching philosophy is that all my students feel seen, heard, and loved in the classroom。 This book would be a great read-aloud to reiterate this idea。

This story is about how every child matters and how you are special。 I think I could read this story to my students if it seems like my kids ever need a little pick-me-up and are being down on themselves。 I could also use this story if my students are making their 'all about me' posters。 This story is about how every child matters and how you are special。 I think I could read this story to my students if it seems like my kids ever need a little pick-me-up and are being down on themselves。 I could also use this story if my students are making their 'all about me' posters。 。。。more

This book talks about his many firsts and how it all came together because he matters。 Then it goes on to talk about bad things that might happen in his life but for him to remember that he does matter。 The boy is African American and it talks about the hard things he may go through because of the color of his skin。 Also not to let things bother him because he will always matter。 I could use this in my classroom so show that color of skin doesnt make anyone less or more special。 Everyone matters This book talks about his many firsts and how it all came together because he matters。 Then it goes on to talk about bad things that might happen in his life but for him to remember that he does matter。 The boy is African American and it talks about the hard things he may go through because of the color of his skin。 Also not to let things bother him because he will always matter。 I could use this in my classroom so show that color of skin doesnt make anyone less or more special。 Everyone matters so matter what their skin color is。 。。。more

The book title says a lot about the book already。 This would be great in a classroom because it gives children courage and a sense of parent and child love。

I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons。 For my first reason I found the title and cover alone to be very inviting as well as important when it comes to my future classroom and students。 I enjoyed that the book had a rhyme rhythm as you read it and that it really shows in the book how you can matter and will help kids see just how special they truly are。 I also loved that the story was full of diversity and lets kids everywhere, see themselves。

This book talks about how a child matters in many ways, and brings up the idea of ancestors and other aspects that have lead to the creation of this child。 I can use this in the classroom to show students that they matter and that their backgrounds play a big part in their identity。

The art style of the is book is gorgeous。 I think that the way it helps students of marginalized groups to understand and feel that they do matter is a great message to send kids。 I’m very excited to is this in my future class to help my students see that they have worth, and are so important。

All Because You Matter is a story about why you matter。 I explains how all of the moments in your life you have mattered。 Such as being born, your first steps, and your first words。 It explains how sometimes we may question our place on earth when we do not feel good enough or did something wrong。 The book ends by explaining why we all matter。 I would use this book in the future to read to a student who is maybe feeling a little down on themselves or feeling worthless。

This books lesson is that you matter no matter who you are or what you look like。 You have always been cared about even before you were born。 You have so many people that have come before you and care so deeply about you。 I think this book has great meaning, but I don't know if I would use it in my classroom because it has such a deep meaning I don't know it my kids will be old enough to catch on to that。 This books lesson is that you matter no matter who you are or what you look like。 You have always been cared about even before you were born。 You have so many people that have come before you and care so deeply about you。 I think this book has great meaning, but I don't know if I would use it in my classroom because it has such a deep meaning I don't know it my kids will be old enough to catch on to that。 。。。more

I thought that this book did an exceptional job at portraying the message that no matter what kind of challenges and ridicule you may face in life, but at the end of the day you are wanted, and you matter。 I also really appreciated how this story came from the perspective of the child's parents, because it came across as their message to him。 This book shows how difficult it can be in this world and in this society to be different than everyone else, but it also teaches children that being diffe I thought that this book did an exceptional job at portraying the message that no matter what kind of challenges and ridicule you may face in life, but at the end of the day you are wanted, and you matter。 I also really appreciated how this story came from the perspective of the child's parents, because it came across as their message to him。 This book shows how difficult it can be in this world and in this society to be different than everyone else, but it also teaches children that being different then everyone else is a gift because your story is unique to you, and at the end of the day nobody can take away from you that you matter。 This is a book that I will be reading in my classroom to show my students how special they all are and how much they matter in this world, and in my classroom。 。。。more

The illustrations in this book are amazing! This a beautiful story affirming the value and worth of a young boy。 The narrator uses the science definition of the word "matter" to also tie in and affirm that the young boy matters。 It hits on a lot of hard topics throughout the book, like someone being made fun of because of their name or the many awful stories that we see on the news of people whose lives are treated as if they don't matter。 The book touches on each of these things lightly though, The illustrations in this book are amazing! This story is about an African American and how the child is reminded about the importance of mattering in the world。 The book shows that at times there is a struggle of feeling like you do not matter but it is important to remember where you came from and that the universe brought you here on this world for a reason。 All because you matter。 This is a good book for African American children to see mirrors of themselves。 With books such as these in the classroom, children will feel valued。
